Croatian cuisine is one of the reasons why just come to Croatia on holiday. Croatian cuisine is based on domestic and freshly prepared products. As a part of Croatian culture, and cuisine is divided into coastal (Istria and Dalmatia) and continental (Croatian Zagorje, including Zagreb and north-western Croatia), Slavonian cuisine (East Croatian).

Ćevapi
Spicy minced meat, beef or pork, or mixed. They have a distinctive shape. Often served with bread and onions.
Skewers
Small pieces of various meat stick, grilled.
Pancakes
Most often served stuffed with nuts, chocolate or ice cream.
Rožata
Rožata is a dessert that is known in Dalmatia, somewhere under the name rožada. Easy to prepare, great taste, often found as a dessert typical Dalmatian meal. Serve with whipped cream or warm chocolate sauce.
Mangel (Blitva)
Serve with olive oil, garlic and potatoes. Simple and very tasty contribution which is served in the whole Croatia, especially on the coast, with fish.
Pag cheese
It is on the island of Pag, this sheep's cheese is a delicacy all Croatian. It is often served with olives as an appetizer.
Cod (Bakalar)
Dried cod is prepared in different ways, and is traditionally served Christmas Eve, although you can get into some restaurants throughout the year.
Pizza
Although not a traditional Croatian food, can be found in almost all restaurants, the quality is excellent.
Burek
Pie known in all areas of the former Yugoslavia. Burek can be found in every diner and fast food restaurant. It is meat wrapped in homemade dough.
Meal under the iron bell
Dish consisting of meat of your choice, potato, garlic and olive oil. Serve with salad and homemade bread.
