slano_dubrovnikSlano is a small picturesque town on the Dubrovnik Riviera, situated 40 km North-West of Dubrovnik, in the 2 km long bay which has always been a safe haven and shelter from the storm. Slano has about 550 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourism, olive oil production, fishing, viticulture and sheep breeding. Slano is rich in historical and cultural monuments like the Roman sarcophagi from the 5th century, Franciscan convent from the 14th century, counts’ palace from the 15 century, many small churches and chapels, remains of Illyrian settlements and Renaissance and Baroque buildings. There is a post office, pharmacy, clinic, ATMs and numerous activities available in Slano.

You can swim in the beautiful sandy, pebble and rocky beaches. For guests looking for active holidays there is a long walking and cycling path. The vicinity of Dubrovnik, the Elaphiti islands, islands of Mljet and Korcula, Ston and Peljesac peninsula, offers the possibility of visiting these fascinating destinations. If you are coming by boat or a yacht to Slano, you can anchor in a sheltered Banja bay, while larger yachts can anchor at the entrance to the bay, North-West of Cap Gornji. Accommodation is possible in two hotels: Osmine and Admiral, as well as in Slano private accommodation units, houses, apartments and rooms owned by kind and hospitable locals.
